Poker card

Have you ever held a poker card in your hands? Did you feel the power of that card seeping into your skin, revealing the possibilities contained within it? Have you wanted ever since to feel that power again?

You can. Just pick up another poker card. And another, and another. And you don’t even have to actually pick them up these days, as there are plenty of online sites dedicated to playing poker.

The popularity of poker online has surged in the last few years. It’s exceedingly simple to dive into the Internet and locate a good room for play. You can choose any poker variant that you wish and jump right in with a minimum of hassle or registration.

But lots of people don’t even know who to play poker. Did you, when you first picked up that card? If not then it’s time you learned. And the best place to start is with the card combinations.

• First there’s the royal flush. It’s the strongest hand. You must get the ten, jack, queen, king and ace of a single suit.
• Second there’s the straight flush, which is like the royal flush but may be any set of cards in sequential order of the same suit.
• Third is the four of a kind. Pretty straightforward: get four copies of the same card.
• Fourth is a full house. This requires two of one rank of card and three of another.
• Fifth is a flush, which requires that the cards in your hand be of the same suit.
• Sixth is the straight. This is like the straight flush, though the cards need not all be of the same suit.
• Seventh is the three of a kind. Just get three of the same rank.
• Eighth is two pair, which is two pairs of similarly ranked cards.
• Ninth is the pair. It’s like two pair, only you have just one pair of cards.

And, finally, there’s the high card. When all else fails, your highest rank represents you.
